South African entrepreneur Elon Musk is known for founding Tesla Motors and SpaceX, which launched a landmark commercial spacecraft in 2012.
Elon Reeve Musk (born June 28, 1971) is a South African-born American entrepreneur and businessman who founded X.com in 1999 (which later became PayPal), SpaceX in 2002 and Tesla Motors in 2003. Musk became a multimillionaire in his late 20s when he sold his start-up company, Zip2, to a division of Compaq Computers. Musk made headlines in May 2012, when SpaceX launched a rocket that would send the first commercial vehicle to the International Space Station. He bolstered his portfolio with the purchase of SolarCity in 2016, and cemented his standing as a leader of industry by taking on an advisory role in the early days of President Donald Trump's administration.
As of December 2017, Elon Musk’s net worth is $20.2 billion, according to Forbes. He earned his first billion with the sale of PayPal in 2002; his company SpaceX is valued at more than $20 billion.
At age 17, in 1989, Elon Musk moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University and avoid mandatory service in the South African military. He left in 1992 to study business and physics at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in economics and stayed for a second bachelor’s degree in physics.
After leaving Penn, Elon Musk headed to Stanford University in California to pursue a PhD in energy physics. However, his move was timed perfectly with the Internet boom, and he dropped out of Stanford after just two days to become a part of it, launching his first company, Zip2 Corporation. An online city guide, Zip2 was soon providing content for the new websites of both The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune. In 1999, a division of Compaq Computer Corporation bought Zip2 for $307 million in cash and $34 million in stock options.
In 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial services/payments company. An X.com acquisition the following year led to the creation of PayPal as it is known today, and in October 2002, PayPal was acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in stock. Before the sale, Musk owned 11 percent of PayPal stock.
Musk founded his third company, Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, or SpaceX, in 2002 with the intention of building spacecraft for commercial space travel. By 2008, SpaceX was well established, and NASA awarded the company the contract to handle cargo transport for the International Space Station—with plans for astronaut transport in the future—in a move to replace NASA’s own space shuttle missions.
On May 22, 2012, Musk and SpaceX made history when the company launched its Falcon 9 rocket into space with an unmanned capsule. The vehicle was sent to the International Space Station with 1,000 pounds of supplies for the astronauts stationed there, marking the first time a private company had sent a spacecraft to the International Space Station. Of the launch, Musk was quoted as saying, "I feel very lucky. ... For us, it's like winning the Super Bowl."
In December 2013, a Falcon 9 successfully carried a satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit, a distance at which the satellite would lock into an orbital path that matched the Earth's rotation. In February 2015, SpaceX launched another Falcon 9 fitted with the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite, aiming to observe the extreme emissions from the sun that affect power grids and communications systems on Earth.
In March 2017, SpaceX saw the successful test flight and landing of a Falcon 9 rocket made from reusable parts, a development that opened the door for more affordable space travel. A setback came in November 2017, when an explosion occurred during a test of the company's new Block 5 Merlin engine. SpaceX reported that no one was hurt, and that the issue would not hamper its planned rollout of a future generation of Falcon 9 rockets.
The company enjoyed another milestone moment in February 2018 with the successful test launch of the powerful Falcon Heavy rocket. Armed with additional Falcon 9 boosters, the Falcon Heavy was designed to carry immense payloads into orbit and potentially serve as a vessel for deep space missions. For the test launch, the Falcon Heavy was given a payload of Musk's cherry-red Tesla Roadster, equipped with cameras to "provide some epic views" for the vehicle's planned orbit around the sun.

Is it getting closer to the day Elon Musk leaves the companies he has helped build to become a full-time influencer? Or at least, that was the implication of a likely playful, but maybe also self-aware tweet that made some wonder if he was being serious. As Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc, seeks to join the "influence" game, he might not be well received by social media influencers. Musk, one of the richest men in the world, posted to his official Twitter account that he is seriously considering quitting. And what would he do? That is the question. To influence? Probably. Musk wrote on Twitter, without elaborating or providing any context, "Thinking of quitting my jobs & becoming an influencer full-time wdyt”. As you may know, WDYT stands for 'What do you think'. Although Musk has never been an active critic or sharer on the micro-blogging site, it's not clear whether he meant it when he said he would be leaving his positions or was just making fun of it.

Elon Musk has rapidly evolved from a free speech crusader, to a vocal critic of Twitters business viability. Where once he vowed to fight against the spambots, he now claims that they are a reason to shut down the deal.
Today I wanted to examine the possibility that he is deliberately killing the potential for this acquisition after a significant reduction in the value of Tesla. In my opinion, he wants this deal to fail.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, suggests that a crewed mission to #Mars could take place in 2029. However, Musk's earlier forecasts may not coincide with his most recent ones. ExoMars, a joint European-Russian mission to Mars, was postponed on Thursday as a result of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The first in a two-part series, this rover mission was scheduled to take off in 2022. The goal of the two-part expedition was to find out if there is or has ever been life on Mars.

expected the company to deliver 897,000, but Tesla ended up producing 936,000 cars,
87 percent better than it did in the previous years! This was despite Musk asking his
staff not to prioritize completing delivery at the expense of efficiency toward the end of
the year, a time Tesla usually has the most deliveries! Also, Tesla faced the same chip
shortage issues multiple industries faced globally, but it was able to react faster and do
a workaround. Tesla also became the first and only automobile company to be valued at
over trillion dollars, thanks to news about popular car rental company, Hertz, placing an
order for 100,000 units of Model 3! The trillion-dollar record appears to be remaining in
place for some time, judging by the worth of the rest of the automobile companies! In
the same year, the Giga Factory in Shanghai, China, hit its stride, pumping out
hundreds of thousands of electric cars.
Personally, Musk became the richest man alive, overtaking his arch-rival, Jeff Bezos, by
a wide margin. This was largely thanks to Tesla's stock price that continues to soar on
the back of good performance.
Despite all these successes, Musk and Tesla remain focused on Musk's goal, which is
to make electric vehicles the sole means of mobility as soon as possible. Musk wants to
produce 30 million vehicles per year by 2030 to meet anticipated demand! Right now,
Tesla sells four models, the Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S.
The overwhelming majority of Tesla's sales were made up of Model 3 and Model Y.
However, Musk and Tesla realize that these four models do not adequately meet the
needs of all potential EV owners! To address this issue, Musk has revealed five new
Tesla cars for 2022! This means 2022 is going to be one busy and rewarding year for
both Musk and Tesla and could end up being a big turning point for the company!
This video is about the five Tesla cars coming in 2022, so we will now dive in! Some of
the names will be familiar because Tesla has been talking about them for some time,
while other names will catch you by surprise! Also, let's warn you that you might have a
hard time deciding which of them you like most!
The first electric vehicle is the Cybertruck. It has become the most anticipated EV of all
time, with pre-orders reportedly totaling more than one million units! This is no surprise
because the Cybertruck belongs to one of the hottest categories of vehicles in the US,
the pickup trucks! Trucks are among the bestselling models in the country! Also, there is
a pent-up demand for battery-powered electric pickup trucks because that category has
not been appropriately served, making it a field ripe for harvesting!
However, this is not to say the Cybertruck is popular only because there are not many
battery-powered pickup trucks on the market! This truck has so much going for it that
other brands pale in comparison! To start with, the Cybertruck is simply different in
appearance, a deliberate choice by Musk, who just couldn't bear that all popular trucks
looked alike when you remove their brand markings, making them boring! But of course,
the Cybertruck is much more than its looks! For instance, did you know that the steel
body is made from the same material SpaceX uses to make its groundbreaking
spacecraft, the Starship? So when you drive the Cybertruck around, note that you are
inside a body fit for space travel!
But that's not all the selling point of the Cybertruck! It is a powerful EV, capable of
accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds! All that power comes from
the electric motors, with Tesla lets you configure as uni, bi, or tri-motor! The Cybertruck
tows up to 14,000 pounds behind it and has adaptive suspension to help it navigate
rougher terrains! Since it is a truck, it can take up to 3,500 pounds of payload in 100
cubic feet of lockable exterior storage! And thanks to the new 4680 battery Tesla has
made, the Cybertruck offers up to 500 miles between charges, giving you peace of mind
to drive anywhere!
