BANDS LIKE 'SANTANA', INCORPORATED SOME ELEMENTS OF SALSA MUSIC IN THEIR VERSION OF ROCK AND ROLL. ONE OF THE GREATEST 'SALSA' BANDS WAS 'IRAKERE'. THE SONG 'CATALINA' WAS INSPIRED BY AN OLD CUBAN SONG. SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR A CHANGE.
