A source said recently, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk has made a plan for the Giga Texas factory to dominate the US electric vehicle market in particular and the world electric vehicle market in general.

Tesla is planning another expansion near Giga Texas when it collects more land for new projects in the factory area in order to realize the goal of producing about 2 million electric vehicles per year.
Accordingly, Tesla has applied to build a giant new facility to produce cathode materials for battery manufacturing, next to Gigafactory Texas in Austin. This project is listed as being on a parcel of land next to the Colorado River and would have a size of nearly 1.6 million square feet.
Drew Baglino, Senior Vice President of Engineering said: "We’re gonna go and start building our own cathode facility in North America and leveraging all of the North American resources that exist for nickel and lithium, and just doing that, just localizing our cathode supply chain and production, we can reduce miles traveled by all the materials that end up in the cathode by 80%."
In an update on its progress in producing its new 4680 battery cell previously, Tesla confirmed that it has already deployed battery manufacturing equipment at Gigafactory Texas and some are already in operation. The company also shared that a cathode manufacturing facility next to the factory would localize more of the battery cell production and could help achieve greater volume.
Moreover, Giga Texas is also expected to produce more than 4 million 4680 battery cells in a week, enough to power about 5,000 electric vehicles. Even it is estimated that in the near future, Tesla Giga Texas can produce up to 20,000 Model Ys per week.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also commented that Elon Musk is a businessman with a strategic vision, and will make a great contribution to the Texas economy.

President Xi Jinping rewrote the rulebook to allow foreign companies sole ownership of auto ventures so Mr. Musk would open an electric-vehicle factory in Shanghai.
People with knowledge of the talks between Beijing and Tesla said authorities showered Elon Musk with cheap land, low-interest loans, and tax incentives, expecting in return that Tesla would groom local suppliers and bolster lagging Chinese electric-vehicle companies at that time.
Officials involved in policy-making and saw Tesla as one of the spearheads that could make China power in new-energy cars.
Giga Shanghai is Tesla’s first Asian EV production facility. Moreover, Shanghai has imposed a 15% tax rate from 2019 to 2023, which is far less than China’s typical rate of 25%. The carmaker relies on the region for about half of its total production and around 25% of sales.
Tesla Gigafactory also enjoys similar privileges in the state of Texas. This state has been an ideal place for Musk and his company. Accordingly, Texas has no individual or corporate income tax. And in addition to the standard business benefits, local authorities also offered Tesla about $65 million in tax breaks and other incentives in 2020 for a new factory.

Elon Musk’s lawyer has sent a letter to Twitter’s chief legal officer rescinding his offer to buy the company for $44 billion. Musk’s team claims the reason the deal is off is due to unsatisfactory information regarding fake or spam accounts on the social media platform.
