The explorers of the past discovered new lands and founded colonies, many of which still exist today. Elon Musk has the same spirit of exploration, but his target is literally out of the world! He wants to form a settlement on an entirely different planet, Mars! One problem he has is that going to Mars will take you five months at the shortest, which to Musk is just too long! However, he has found an ingenious way to cut the trip to just 100 days or even less! What is this method, and how does it work?
Join us as we dive into SpaceX Nuclear Starship that Is Finally Happening!
If you are planning a trip to Mars, you have better start with how you will cover the vast space between Earth and the Red Planet. Even if you choose the best time to take off, which comes around once in a while when the two planets align the most, you will spend the next five months in transit as you cover millions of miles! Space is massive, and anywhere you are going is far! Humanity has been making do with large fuel burning rockets when we head for space, but it has limited where we can go because we have to take into consideration the amount of energy required for the trips and the time it will take.
SpaceX is working on the Starship to take people to Mars, but while the current Starship can carry lots of cargo, it will not cut down the travel time significantly.
As Musk is aware, you don't want to spend five months between Earth and Mars. This is because there are so many risks with that! Astronauts on a trip to Mars would be exposed to very high levels of radiation which can cause serious long-term health problems such as cancer and sterility. As explorers going to populate a new territory, Musk wants them to arrive as healthy and fertile as possible! Radiation shielding can help, but it is extremely heavy, and the longer the mission, the more shielding is needed. A better way to reduce radiation exposure is to simply get where you are going quicker!
Also, the more time you spend in transit, the higher the chance of something going wrong! You could run out of fuel, for example, or a component breaks down! You also want to think of the problems with confining a hundred people to a space as small as the interior of a spacecraft! Emotions might flare and cause conflicts, jeopardizing the mission! And deep space is the last place you want something to go wrong because you are entirely on your own! So Elon Musk basically needs to find the shortest way to move people to Mars!
Even when the Starship is not transporting humans to Mars, it makes sense for space trips to be shorter. For example, during space exploration for science, it is important to get data from unmanned missions as soon as possible. Consider that it took Voyager-2 12 years just to reach Neptune, where it snapped some incredible photos as it flew by. If Voyager-2 had a faster propulsion system, astronomers could have had those photos and the information they contained years earlier, moving our knowledge of the universe forward faster!
Musk has indicated in the past that he is considering different options for powering spacecraft! For instance, he has tweeted about how nuclear powered rockets would be a great area of research for NASA! He has good reasons for this because nuclear systems are faster!

Show this tweet:
https://twitter.com/elonmusk/s....tatus/11533787778938

But why is a nuclear powered Starship faster? To answer this question, let's look at the basics of how rockets work in space currently. Once you manage to escape the Earth's gravitational pull, you have three things to worry about: number one is thrust which is how fast a system can accelerate a ship. Number two is mass efficiency, which is how much thrust a system can produce for a given amount of fuel, and lastly, energy density is how much energy a given amount of fuel can produce.
The most common propulsion systems in use are chemical propulsion, regular fuel-burning rockets, and solar-powered electric propulsion systems.
While chemical propulsion systems provide a lot of thrust, chemical rockets aren't particularly efficient. This is because rocket fuel isn't that energy-dense. For instance, the Saturn V rocket that took astronauts to the Moon produced 35 million Newtons of force at liftoff and carried 950,000 gallons of fuel! While most of the fuel was used in getting the rocket into orbit, the limitation is that it takes a lot of heavy fuel to get anywhere.
The other option uses solar panels to generate thrust using electricity. The most common way to do this is to use an electrical field to accelerate ions, such as in the Hall thruster. These devices are commonly used to power satellites and can have more than five times higher mass efficiency than chemical systems. But they produce much less thrust, like about three Newtons, or only enough to accelerate a car from 0

#Neuralink, cofounded by Musk in 2016, is creating a device that would be implanted in people's brains to simultaneously monitor and stimulate brain activity. Treatment of severe spinal cord injuries and neurological diseases is one of its intended uses in medicine. The Wall Street Journal's CEO Council Summit had a livestreamed conversation on Monday in which #ElonMusk was asked what Neuralink plans to achieve in 2022.
Neuralink is functioning well in monkeys, and we're undertaking a lot of testing to validate its safety and reliability. The Neuralink gadget can be removed safely, as Musk said. He said, "We aim to have this in our first humans — who will be patients that have severe spinal-cord injuries like tetraplegics, quadriplegics — next year, subject to FDA permission."

Inside SpaceX's Mission to Send Humans into Deep Space | Foreign Correspondent
00:31:56

10 Views · 3 years ago

In the era of New Space, billionaire Elon Musk is blazing the trail. He’s building a gigantic starship to fly humans further than ever before.

In the tiny Texan hamlet of Boca Chica, a huge rocket is being built and tested. It’s Elon Musk’s Starship, a 120-metre-high spacecraft whose mission is to transport humans to the moon and beyond, to Mars.

Musk and his company SpaceX are at the forefront of what’s being called ‘New Space’, the rush to commercialise the space sector.

His ambition is extraordinary; he wants to colonise the Red Planet.

“It’s helpful to have the objective of a self-sustaining city on Mars. This has to be the objective”, says Musk.

In his quest to perfect the Starship, Musk has been blowing up prototypes.

“He doesn't really care if it's messy, he doesn’t really care if it appears to be chaotic, he's trying to go forward into the future as fast as possible”, says space writer Eric Berger.

But the mighty rocket has its critics, including a former head of NASA, Charlie Bolden.

“The difficulty for me as a huge fan of SpaceX, but a huge sceptic about Starship is the fact that it's so big, it's so massive”, says Bolden. “If Neil Armstrong were alive today to talk to them, he would probably say, "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.”

US correspondent Sarah Ferguson heads to Texas to see Musk’s space base up close. She joins a band of devotees in Boca Chica, from Gene the local surfer to MaryLiz and Ryan who are dedicating their lives to documenting the billionaire’s space odyssey.

She speaks to members of the ‘space establishment’ – former and current NASA executives who’ve decided to accept and work with the great disruptor. NASA recently awarded Musk a multi-billion-dollar contract to build its next moon lander.

“I think actually this will be a perfect example of ‘New Space’ and ‘Old Space’ meeting together in a great new mission”, says Kathy Lueders, head of the NASA mission to send humans back to the moon.

Sarah travels to Florida’s space coast to witness the launch of SpaceX’s Inspiration4, the first time civilians have flown into orbit.

Musk is a polarising figure, but he’s changed forever how humans view space.

Elon Musk is one of the richest, most innovative people on planet Earth, but that could also make him a target. When he isn't busy planning the first manned trip to Mars with his company Space X, he is working on digging tunnels under major cities with his Boring Company, or revamping everything we know about electric cars with, Tesla. Someone with that kind out influence could have enemies waiting for their chance to take Elon and his empire down. So how protected is Elon Musk? Today we're going to show you behind the scenes at the security measures taken by the innovator, Elon Musk.

The Russian space chief watched in awe as billionaires Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson took off into space in vehicles they helped fund - and wished his country's billionaires would follow their lead. But in the first interview with Western media since assuming the role of director general of Ros cosmos, Dmitry Rogozin told CNN that "our millionaires prefer to invest in yachts rather than spaceships. But maybe kids of current Russian millionaires will be much more wise creatures."There is no doubt that Rogozin is highly impressed with the boom in space tourism that is occurring in the United States, led by companies like Branson's Virgin Galactic and Bezos' Blue Origin.

What China JUST DID To Elon Musk And Tesla Changes EVERYTHING! | Who's To Blame?!

Transportation is at a turning point. Even though gas cars are still the most common, it's becoming clear that electric cars are the way of the future, and a lot of this excitement is due to one company. In the wake of Tesla's inexpensive electric vehicles of all kinds, the automobile industry has been shaken to its core. However, plenty of problems are plaguing the company right now. When it comes to challenges, Tesla is in the midst of the worst crisis the company has ever had to deal with.

Thanks For Watching Our Video; What China JUST DID To Elon Musk And Tesla Changes EVERYTHING! | Who's To Blame?!

Inefficient operations, high debt, and struggling physical storefronts are some of the challenges many businesses confront today. The Covid-19 outbreak exacerbated these problems and hastened the demise of several shops struggling with declining sales and mounting debt due to shifting consumer tastes in the prior years.

And, of course, Tesla is not immune to this.
Recently, Elon Musk has had to deal with layoffs, lawsuits, and, according to the world's richest man, worries about going bankrupt.

In a statement to CNN on June 23, Elon Musk stated the electric vehicle manufacturer risks billions of dollars in losses due to its new plants, supply chain issues, and covid lockdowns.

According to CNN, which cites an interview with a Tesla owners group filmed last month and recently posted, "The past two years have been an absolute nightmare with supply chain delays, one thing after the other." "It's not over yet. Our first issue is how to keep the factories running so that we can pay our workers and avoid bankruptcy."

'Massive Money Furnaces'
Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed in a video interview with Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley that the company's plants in Berlin and Austin are "giant money furnaces" at the moment.

Tesla's operations in the days leading up to Musk's decision to reduce expenses by laying off the staff are revealed in these statements, which were part of a larger discussion filmed on May 31.

Elon Musk told Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait that layoffs would touch around 10% of the company's paid staff over the next three months. This is about 3.5 percent of the company's global workforce.

While all was going on, Credit Suisse analyst Dan Levy cut his price objective for Tesla to $1,000 from $1,125 on June 24 while maintaining an outperform rating for the stock.

Levy anticipates Tesla to deliver 242,000 vehicles in the second quarter. This is lower than the 280,000 expected by the sell-side and is primarily due to the Shanghai covid-19 shutdown. On the other hand, the analyst estimated a $1.10 per share for the second quarter. This price below the consensus of $2.08, was cut due to lower deliveries, margin impact, and a projected bitcoin impairment.

Tesla's long-term fundamentals are intact, and the increasing supply limitations will likely expand its advantage over rival carmakers in the race to electric vehicles.

During all this bad news, it's understandable that Tesla CEO Elon Musk would want more people to know that the company has topped the Cars.com 2022 American-Made Index.

All Tesla production facilities were affected.
Shanghai's power outages were "very, extremely difficult." According to him, it will require "a lot of attention" to fix these problems. Because it began with the 2170 batteries, the Berlin plant has seen an increase in output.

However, both Texas and Berlin have had a difficult time increasing production. Musk's statements come as the corporation is cutting 10% of its workforce. Additionally, the corporation has decided to put a temporary halt on all new hires across the globe.

He said this has been a nightmare of supply chain disruptions that hasn't ended for the past two years. 2,000 people will be laid off during the next three months.

The Shanghai factory will close for two weeks.
This also affects production at the company's Fremont, California plant. Many of the components utilized in the manufacturing process are sourced from China. The factory will be shut down for two weeks in July to prepare for increased production in China. According to Reuters, the factories will then receive modifications to help increase output.

Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams in March 2006 and launched in July of that year. By 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day, and the service handled an average of 1.6 billion search queries per day. The company went public in November 2013. By the start of 2019, Twitter had more than 330 million monthly active users.

So when did Musk enter the picture?

Business magnate Elon Musk revealed that he had bought 9.1% of Twitter for $2.64 billion on April 4, 2022. In response, Twitter's stock rose by as much as 27% and Twitter shares experienced the largest intraday surge since Twitter's IPO in 2013. Musk was offered a seat on Twitter's board of directors as part of a deal that prohibited him from acquiring more than 14.9% of the company, but Musk decided not to join the board before his appointment became effective on April 9.

In a TED interview, Musk showed interest in fighting internet censorship around the world, saying that "Twitter should match the laws of the country". Musk's concern about free speech has been directed almost entirely at Twitter's moderation policies.

In 2017, Musk casually tweeted "I love Twitter". And then a user asked him to buy the microblogging platform, to which Musk replied – “How much is it?” Guess he has the answer to his question now! The tweet went viral after the recent takeover of Twitter by the CEO OF Tesla.
