About 26 activist organizations and NGOs signed a letter to Twitter advertisers requesting that they boycott the platform if Elon makes changes to content moderation. According to Beitbart.com, "hundreds of millions of dollars are flowing from Bill Gates' foundation to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter last month trying to persuade Twitter advertisers to boycott the company if Elon Musk restores free speech on the platform.

Aside from Bill Gates, some of these organizations were later revealed to be funded or affiliated with billionaire philanthropist George Soros and former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
