Early this month, Musk and his company - SpaceX cleared another hurdle in its quest to launch its Starship, the world’s most powerful rocket when the FAA granted environmental approval for orbital launches from the company’s site in South Texas.
The decision, announced on June 13 after months of delay and debate, requires several actions to ease the impact on public beaches and wildlife surrounding SpaceX’s private spaceport at Boca Chica Beach, 20 miles east of Brownsville, Texas.
But the ruling still represents a win for Elon Musk’s space company, which could have been required to complete a much more comprehensive and lengthy Environmental Impact Statement before any orbital launches took place.
Despite the conditional approval for SpaceX, which still needs a launch license for orbital flights, the future of the rocket complex in Boca Chica Beach is less certain than it may seem.
The growing facility, known as Starbase, has become the subject of heated debate among state and regional officials who see the site as an opportunity for economic development, environmentalists concerned about the impacts on fragile ecosystems, locals whose community has been transformed, and SpaceX devotees with grand visions of living on Mars.

Indonesia Needs More Than One New Capital. It Needs Six New Master-Planned Cities

Indonesia stands at one of the most exciting moments in its modern history.
The construction of Nusantara, Indonesia’s new capital city, represents far more than the relocation of government offices. It demonstrates what is possible when long-term planning replaces decades of unstructured urban growth.
Following my recent Australian National Review special report from Nusantara, which received widespread attention across Indonesian media, one conclusion became increasingly clear: Indonesia should not stop with one new master-planned city.
It should build at least six.
As Founder of LUX Property Group, our company remains committed to completing our current projects across Bali before expanding our primary development focus elsewhere in Indonesia. Bali has been an extraordinary success story and will continue to be one of the world’s premier tourism destinations.
However, success creates its own challenges.
Bali is reaching practical limits on future expansion. Demand from international visitors and investors continues to accelerate, yet the island deliberately restricts high-rise construction to preserve its unique culture and landscape. This policy has protected Bali’s character and should be respected.
The result, however, is simple economics.
More people want to live, invest and holiday in Bali than the island can comfortably accommodate.
Road congestion continues to worsen, land becomes increasingly scarce, and property prices continue rising. While these trends benefit many existing landowners and businesses, they also highlight the need for Indonesia to create new destinations rather than expecting Bali to absorb unlimited future growth.
With a national population approaching 280 million people and the greater Jakarta metropolitan region now home to approximately 41.9 million people, Indonesia has both the scale and the economic potential to support multiple world-class master-planned cities.
Nusantara is the first.
LUX Property Group believes Indonesia should now begin planning at least four additional strategically located cities, each designed to eventually accommodate between 1.5 and 2 million residents while serving as regional economic hubs.
Our own planned mixed-use development in South Lombok, Nesara Bay City, which is currently progressing through final planning approvals expected later this year, represents one example of how carefully planned communities can support tourism, business, education, healthcare and lifestyle in a sustainable way.
Rather than allowing cities to evolve without long-term planning, Indonesia has an opportunity to create communities built around modern infrastructure from day one.
These cities should feature:
• Wide boulevards and efficient road networks.
• Extensive parks and green corridors.
• Reliable public transport.
• Smart city technology.
• Sustainable energy systems.
• Water recycling infrastructure.
• Mixed residential, commercial and tourism precincts.
• Convention and exhibition facilities.
• Universities and research centres.
• International hospitals.
• Walkable town centres.
• Protected natural environments.
Indonesia’s geography provides numerous opportunities to distribute future population growth more evenly throughout the archipelago rather than concentrating economic activity into only a handful of metropolitan areas.

Human fighters can be replaced with robots, which are both faster and less expensive, as well as having a lower political cost. Even if there are serious moral implications, declining to use AI on the battlefield will be viewed as a poor financial move.
The Pentagon is developing and deploying hypersonic capabilities to confront Russian aggression. As a result, they sought the assistance of none other than Elon Musk. Musk is well-known for his stellar technological aptitude and engineering excellence. He is a connoisseur of his field.

Well, rumors all over the internet claim that he and his company, Tesla, are gearing up to enter the smartphone sector with a bang with their magnificent smartphone, the Tesla Model Pi. The entire world is waiting to see what special features Elon would include in his Tesla Model Pi, given his track record of great discoveries ranging from reusable rockets to self-driving technology. What features would Elon incorporate in his smartphone to set it apart from the fierce competition in the market today?
When it arrives on the market, the Tesla Model Pi is expected to be a game-changer, with analysts predicting that it would give other phone competitors a run for their money. Just ask Toyota and NASA, both of whom are willing to testify. Although the Tesla Model Pi's release date has yet to be announced, the device's functionality and design have already been revealed.

Why Indonesia’s New Capital May Become One of the World’s Most Comfortable Cities to Live In

After spending several days visiting Indonesia’s remarkable new capital, Nusantara, one thing became immediately obvious.
This city feels different.
Unlike many tropical cities that can become hot, humid and congested, Nusantara has an incredibly fresh feel. During my visit in what is currently the drier season, daytime temperatures were warm but
comfortable, while the evenings were surprisingly pleasant, helped by a constant breeze flowing through the surrounding forests.
It prompted me to ask a simple question.
If it’s this comfortable now, what will it be like during the hottest part of the year?
The answer may surprise many people.
Because Nusantara sits close to the equator, it doesn’t experience the dramatic seasonal temperature swings Australians are familiar with. Instead, temperatures remain remarkably stable throughout the
year, generally ranging between 30 and 34 degrees during the day and around 22 to 25 degrees overnight. The wet season brings more rain rather than significantly higher temperatures.
While there will naturally be hotter days that occasionally reach the mid-30s, the city’s location, extensive forest cover and proximity to the coast help generate natural airflow that reduces the oppressive
heat often experienced in large inland cities.
What impressed me even more was the air quality.
Coming from cities where traffic congestion, industrial pollution and urban sprawl dominate the skyline, Nusantara feels like breathing in fresh rainforest air.
That isn’t accidental.
Indonesia has deliberately designed Nusantara as a “Forest City”, preserving vast areas of natural vegetation while integrating urban development into the surrounding landscape rather than replacing it.
Wide boulevards, thousands of trees, electric public transport and the absence of heavy industry nearby all contribute to what could become one of the cleanest capital cities in Asia.
Of course, like much of Indonesia, there remains the occasional risk of regional haze during severe forest fire seasons elsewhere in the archipelago. However, under normal conditions, Nusantara enjoys
significant natural advantages over many of Asia’s major metropolitan areas.
Scientists also believe that although all growing cities eventually create some urban heat, Nusantara’s extensive green planning should significantly reduce the “urban heat island” effect compared with
conventional cities dominated by concrete and asphalt.
Walking around Nusantara today, it already feels more like a modern eco-city than a traditional capital.
Wide landscaped streets.
Beautiful architecture.
Open green spaces.
Clean air.
Minimal traffic.
It’s a striking contrast to many of the world’s older capital cities that are now struggling with congestion, pollution and overcrowding.
As Indonesia continues developing Nusantara over the coming decades, the country has a rare opportunity to build not simply another capital city, but one of the healthiest, greenest and most liveable urban
environments on the planet.
If the current vision is maintained, future generations may well look at Nusantara as the blueprint for how new cities should be built in the 21st century.
Having now experienced it firsthand, I believe the greatest surprise isn’t the futuristic buildings.
It’s how comfortable the city already feels.
