In the era of New Space, billionaire Elon Musk is blazing the trail. He’s building a gigantic starship to fly humans further than ever before.

In the tiny Texan hamlet of Boca Chica, a huge rocket is being built and tested. It’s Elon Musk’s Starship, a 120-metre-high spacecraft whose mission is to transport humans to the moon and beyond, to Mars.

Musk and his company SpaceX are at the forefront of what’s being called ‘New Space’, the rush to commercialise the space sector.

His ambition is extraordinary; he wants to colonise the Red Planet.

“It’s helpful to have the objective of a self-sustaining city on Mars. This has to be the objective”, says Musk.

In his quest to perfect the Starship, Musk has been blowing up prototypes.

“He doesn't really care if it's messy, he doesn’t really care if it appears to be chaotic, he's trying to go forward into the future as fast as possible”, says space writer Eric Berger.

But the mighty rocket has its critics, including a former head of NASA, Charlie Bolden.

“The difficulty for me as a huge fan of SpaceX, but a huge sceptic about Starship is the fact that it's so big, it's so massive”, says Bolden. “If Neil Armstrong were alive today to talk to them, he would probably say, "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.”

US correspondent Sarah Ferguson heads to Texas to see Musk’s space base up close. She joins a band of devotees in Boca Chica, from Gene the local surfer to MaryLiz and Ryan who are dedicating their lives to documenting the billionaire’s space odyssey.

She speaks to members of the ‘space establishment’ – former and current NASA executives who’ve decided to accept and work with the great disruptor. NASA recently awarded Musk a multi-billion-dollar contract to build its next moon lander.

“I think actually this will be a perfect example of ‘New Space’ and ‘Old Space’ meeting together in a great new mission”, says Kathy Lueders, head of the NASA mission to send humans back to the moon.

Sarah travels to Florida’s space coast to witness the launch of SpaceX’s Inspiration4, the first time civilians have flown into orbit.

Musk is a polarising figure, but he’s changed forever how humans view space.

"Converting our public transportation to electric is one of the best ways we can create jobs, modernize our crumbling infrastructure, and fight the climate crisis." Elizabeth Warren said in a speech.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren made this claim about the future of green technology and good renewable energy sources, yet she has also lately blasted GM, the nation's first automobile manufacturer.
General Motors announced a major restructuring of its global business. These changes are part of GM’s efforts to focus its resources on self-driving and electric vehicles, as well as more efficient trucks, crossovers and SUVs, the company said in a statement.
The company also said it will cut 15 percent of its salaried workforce, laying off 25 percent of its executives to “streamline decision-making.” GM also said it will close two plants outside North America, but those locations have yet to be announced.
“The actions we are taking today continue our transformation to be highly agile, resilient and profitable, while giving us the flexibility to invest in the future,” chief executive Mary Barra said in a statement. “We recognize the need to stay in front of changing market conditions and customer preferences to position our company for long-term success.”
The company said it expects to save $6 billion in cash as a part of the restructuring. The cost-cutting is crucial to GM’s aggressive strategy with efficient and electric vehicles said Michelle Krebs, an analyst with AutoTrader.
“GM is making a big bet on a future that is autonomous, connected and electric,” Krebs said. “It has to be extremely profitable now to finance that because no one knows when those vehicles will be commonplace.”
Ohio Sens. Rob Portman (R) and Sherrod Brown (D), however, both slammed GM’s decision to shut down the Lordstown plant, shaming the company for poor treatment of its workers.
Senator Elizabeth Warren claims that GM received significant investments and government incentives but nevertheless decided to close the facility and lay off executives and staff. There is a serious question mark surrounding GM's operations, and Elizabeth Warren has a point.

The Falcon Heavy rose from the same launch pad used by NASA nearly 50 years ago to send men to the Moon. With lift-off, the Heavy became the most powerful rocket in use today, doubling the lift-off punch of its closest competitor. Within three minutes, the Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters separated from the central rocket in one of the most critical points of the flight. Some eight minutes after launch, a pair of sonic booms rocked the area as the two side boosters set down in near synchrony on two landing pads. Flying atop the Falcon Heavy is SpaceX & Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s cherry-red Tesla Roadster, carrying a passenger—sort of. SpaceX revealed last weekend that a mannequin wearing the company’s new spacesuit would ride in the driver’s seat of the electric sports car ,nicknamed Starman.

Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is the technique of creating three-dimensional solid items from a freakin’ computer file. People who don't know about 3d printing would be like, Huh! How’s that possible? And #ElonMusk is taking it to another level. How’s that? By building rockets out of these. Yeah you heard it right, Musk is printing rockets. Wanna know more about it? Stay tuned in the video.

#SpaceX began employing additive manufacturing to mass-produce rocket partsin 2014, and it sent its first 3D printed part to space in 2015.
The corporation is now using 3D printing technology, such as Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), to produce parts in days rather than months as part of its ambition to occupy Mars by 2050. Because of the high-performance parts produced by 3D printing, SpaceX is able to design #SpaceXRockets that can be refueled and reused multiple times.

Although Musk doesn’t claim to have any religious beliefs, his recent comments to Babylon Bee suggest a thoughtful interest in the person and teachings of Jesus.

Musk said he “agreed with the principles Jesus advocated”, adding: “There was great wisdom in the words of Jesus and I agree with those teachings. Things like 'turn the other cheek' are very important… Forgiveness is important and treating people as you wish to be treated. Love thy neighbour as thy self – very important.”

But as Musk seeks, to an extent, to learn from Jesus, can the Church learn from someone like him? While his fears about the dangers of AI may seem like the stuff of sci-fi films let’s not forget that Musk has already displayed a remarkable knack for anticipating where our tech is taking us.
